(i) To strengthen the cooperative movement
in the State and to provide necessary support for attainment of viability of the
agricultural credit cooperatives, marketing cooperatives, processing and cold storing
cooperatives, consumer cooperatives, housing cooperatives, etc. and to utilise those as
vehicles of development for the Community in general and weaker sections in particular as
avowed in the OCS Act.
(ii) To
streamline market regulation under agricultural and allied sector by establishing
Regulated Market Committees and Krushak Bazars and through such net work to prevent
distress sale of agricultural produce and exploitation of producers as well as consumers
by the traders.
(iii)
To provide scientific storage facilities through the State Ware Housing Corporation and
for providing storage facilities mostly in rural areas through the cooperative storage godowns.
