Act & Rules

In the day to day functioning of the Department relating to the excise matter, the following Act and Rules are referred to.

a)         Bihar and Orissa Excise Act, 1915

b)     Board’s Excise Rules, 1965

c)     Orissa Excise Rules, 1965

d)     Orissa Excise (Exclusive Privilege) Foreign Liquor Rules, 1989

e)     Orissa Excise Exclusive Privilege Rules, 1970

f)      Orissa Excise Mahua Flower Rules, 1976 and

g)     Orissa Excise Methyl Alcohol Rules, 1976

           Both the Government and the Board have the power to frame rules under the Bihar and Orissa Excise Act for different purposes
