Cabinet/Council of Ministers Decision 4. Proposal for Amendment of the Orissa Legislative Assembly Members’ Family Pension Rules, 1988, consequent upon the amendment of the Orissa Legislative Assembly Members’ Salary, Allowances and Pension Act, 1954. Approved. The Orissa Legislative Assembly Members’ Salary, Allowances and Pension Act, 1954 was amended in 1989. After this amendment, in the event of the death of member who was eligible for pension or already in receipt of pension, his/her spouse shall be entitled to receive as family pension a sum equivalent to such pension till his/her death or remarriage whichever is earlier. But inadvertently the corresponding rule i.e. O.L.A. Members’ Family Pension Rules, 1988 has not been amended for the purpose. But the Family Pension holders are in receipt of their pension as amended in the principal Act. In order to remove the anomaly, the provisions of the said rules are amended suitably by the approval of the Cabinet. |
